Are you looking for calligraphy, Bullet Journal, or creative planning classes in Minnesota and other areas? Are you looking for a speaker at your next event about creativity, perfectionism, personal leadership, or self care?
For over a decade, I’ve been working as a curriculum writer and teacher, always learning about how to better create spaces for learners. Teaching is something I love to do. My belief is that we can all learn anything if we had the right space to do it – so I create those spaces in my workshops.
My workshops and classes have a mix of demonstration and instruction, practice time, some individual attention, jokes, and hopefully some laughter. I care most about holding a casual atmosphere that invites questions, experimentation, play, and for participants to get what they want out of the time together. At the heart, I want people to feel like Bullet Journaling and calligraphy are skills they can actually do.
Through these classes I tend to infuse messages around self-care, personal leadership, writing your own story, empowerment, and creativity. I find that planning, Bullet Journaling, and calligraphy are amazing ways to learn about ourselves, and it’s fun for me to bring those elements into our time together. These are topics I care deeply about, and if you already follow my #realtalk captions on my Instagram feed, you have a sense of what I bring as an engaging and dynamic public speaker as well.
I teach classes through a variety of venues, as well as individual lessons and private classes. Just ask!
What the students are saying…
“Jessica was born to teach. She teaches the class in a way that all levels of calligraphers can benefit from and makes sure you are having fun along the way. She has so much knowledge and encouragement to offer, while challenging you to really hone in on your natural skills and style. Not to mention that she is a kick butt human being with wisdom to share beyond her years.” – Montana, 21

Lettering and Calligraphy Workshops
“I’ve been trying to learn brush calligraphy for months but this was the first time I really got it – thank you!” – Ashley
After teaching calligraphy and handlettering classes in Minnesota and across the country for eight years, I’ve gotten the fun 90-minute to 2 hour class down to an artform. My core workshops are:
Handlettering. Perfect for those who want to take their handwriting and make it even better, or to “fake” the look of calligraphy.
Brush Calligraphy.
Past lettering workshops have been at Osseo Community Education, Wet Paint Art in St. Paul, ModernWell, Carver Junk Company, during yoga and mindfulness retreats, for 35 young aspiring businesswomen, for up to 200 conference participants, women’s camps at DuNord, and even teen birthday parties!
Bullet Journal® Workshops
For those who want more mindful productivity, purposeful organization, compassionate reflection, the Bullet Journal® Method is a tool that can help. Whether you’re an overloaded parent, a perfectionistic student, a slightly cluttered professional, an enthusiastic entrepreneur, I customize the Bullet Journal Method for the audience with in-depth knowledge and practice of Bujo combined with over a decade of facilitation and presentation experience.
I offer flexible Bullet Journal training formats to suit your needs, for example:
- 1-2 hour Introduction to Bullet Journal. If you want to introduce the idea of the Methodology, this “crash course” will hit the main components of the system and how it can begin get you organized and mindfully get more of the right things done.
- 2 part workshop to explore The System and The Practice. With 2 two-hour workshops, we have more time to complete exercises that bring the Bullet Journal Method to life. For those who want more hands-on instruction to make the system stick, this is a great option. We spend the first workshop learning the basics of the system, and a few weeks later, we dig into your Q&A and add on The Practice that makes it so powerful.
- Afternoon deep-dive. If you have a professional development day, a team retreat, this is a great option to really engage with the Bullet Journal Method and how it can support your goals. We have time to walk through the entire Method, set up your new notebook, and how it can work with a flow you already have.
