Join @prettyprintsandpaper, @decadethirty, @tinyrayofsunshine, and @boho.berry for another month of the #rockyourhandwriting challenge! // www.prettyprintsandpaper.com
Since the first #RockYourHandwriting challenge, we’ve seen over 16,000 shares on Instagram. WHO KNEW so many of you wanted to work on your handwriting? I hope you saw some progress or other benefits to having time set aside to practice day to day.
We’ve decided to make it even MORE fun by making this month’s challenge
Spread the word – the more the merrier with this Instagram challenge, so repost the image below, tag a friend, and use the hashtag #RockYourHandwriting and the other hashtags you usually use. If you are so inspired, we are also on Facebook! Join us there if you aren’t on IG, or just want a forum to share your work with other.
There are 30 prompts, one for every day – there are a mix of drills, writing prompts, and applications. If it’s a drill, practice writing the words for a page or so – working on consistency. If it’s a prompt, for example “quote of the day,” then you’d write down whatever quote you want, working on intentionality. Other things are applications – which means if it’s “Thank you note,” for example, then you’re practicing handwriting doing a familiar task in a new way. Simply take a photo of your work and share on Instagram with the hashtags.
Take a peek through the hashtag and engage with others in the challenge – like, comment, encourage, and offer feedback. Most of the joy is doing this in community rather than by ourselves.
Join us when you can, on days you can! Its never too late. It’s an invitation not an expectation – it’s supposed to be a fun way we can all work on our handwriting together, so even if you miss a few days (we all do) just jump back in!
And now, a Giveaway!
A new twist to April is our GIVEAWAY!
You can participate in either or both Instagram or Facebook challenges this month for your chance to win one of these awesome notebook and pen sets from the fabulous Goulet Pen company. At the end of the month two fabulous handwriters will be chosen at random to win.

I just found you!! Yeaaa!! Love your lettering & teaching . I have a bunch of catching up to do !!!
Question.. My intent is to use this for cards a must smaller font. So do I learn big and go down ? Or how do I do small ? Most brush/pens (which I have none yet or paper 😞) produce large lettering? Help ?? Thanks a bunch
You are so sweet, I’m glad you found me too 🙂 That is a great question! There are some pens that work better for smaller works – I recommend the Pentel Sign Brush Pens and the Kuretake Zig CocoIros 🙂 I talk about them in this freaking long video (I’ll do it again, much shorter, some other time!): http://prettyprintsandpaper.com/2016/02/07/video-comparing-brush-pens/
OOPS I just saw this reply!! This month seems to be much more focused on prompts as a vehicle for practice 🙂 Last month was more drills but this time we upped it to prompts. Can’t wait to see your posts!
